Healthy Side Dish: Green Beans, Mushrooms, and Onions

Healthy Side Dish, Healthy Recipe

This is a yummy and simple side dish and can be pretty flexible on how you season them. You can add balsamic or paprika or whatever seasoning you prefer. This is my favorite way to make them.

Serves: 2

Healthy Side Dish, Green beans

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Green Beans, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/3 cup Onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Green Onion, chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Butter

You can replace butter with olive oil

Directions

  1. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat
  2. Add onions, mushrooms, green beans, and green onion to skillet
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
  4. Saute for 15 – 20 minutes until veggies are soft

Serve!

Green beans, onions, mushrooms

I love sauted onions, they give a nice flavor to everything. A few years ago I would have said skip the mushrooms too. I wouldn’t touch them. Then my husband made this steak with mushrooms and onions, and I actually enjoyed the mushrooms.. crazy how tastes can change.
